I crave your indulgence to do this little mental exercise with me. Think about your life as a teenager, more specifically between ages 17 and 19 and try to recall what were the most important things to you then. Again try to recall what your ambitions were, what kept you up at night and which career or mere occupation you really wanted for yourself. Lastly try to recall what your expectations were from your relationships; family, friends, romantic partners etc.
Are your current valuables in the context of the above exercise the same for you as it stands now? I doubt that very much, but if they remained the same I bet the dynamics of it changed along the way? That is what growth does. And a very effective mirror for life in general.
As you evolve your goals change too. You outgrow people, habits and even some dreams. When this happens, do not be afraid to start again. You aren’t starting from scratch this time but from a lot of experience that will guide you on the next journey. Contrary to the popular concept of life being one journey, let us start looking at it a series of many journeys that start, pause, end and restart in many diverse aspects and levels of our lifespan. That way when one journey ends, you gather your learnings and move on to the next with smiles and confidence that it will be better than the previous.
You are already killing it Sis, don’t give up. If your current life isn’t what you want, change it. Whatever it takes if it’s not great, then it sure isn’t over yet!
Be courageous! Love, Sweety.
